What Happens When a Payment Fails

Understanding the payment failure process helps you avoid service interruptions.

Retry Schedule

When a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry the charge. If retries continue to fail, the following happens:

  1. First failure: You receive an email notification to update your payment method
  2. Second failure: Another reminder email
  3. Third failure: Your Breeze may be suspended, and your account flagged

How to Fix

  1. Update your payment method in Billing → Manage Payment Methods
  2. Ensure sufficient funds are available
  3. Contact your bank if the card is being declined

Suspended Service

Suspended Breezes are stopped but not destroyed. Your data is preserved. Update your payment method to restore service.
